OpenAlex - https://openalex.org/ is an amazing open replacement for the Microsoft Academic Graph, and an open alternative to Google Scholar. They have been going now for about five years and are now putting together an advisory board.

Purpose of OpenAlex’s governance
- Underpins and secures OpenAlex’s structure;
- Is fitting for the type of organisation that OpenAlex has become over the last 5 years and is expected to become over the next 5 years;
- Provides greater transparency into the way OpenAlex works;
- Allows the organisations who rely upon OpenAlex to have input;
- Facilitates succession planning and operations continuity.
If you have an interest or experience with open infrastructure and scholarly infrastructure, then do consider applying for this. I have been serving on the board of Dryad, and on the governance board of the STM integrity hub, for a few years now, and it is a very rewarding use of my time.
