jetzt geht‘s richtig los. Während die Planung und Vorbereitung etwas länger gedauert hat als uns lieb war, haben jetzt das Festivalprogramm komplett! Ab sofort könnt ihr euch für Workshops anmelden, die vom 24.-27. Mai stattfinden werden und Konzerttickets für den 23. Mai erwerben!

THE TAWOO METHOD - Kaoly Asano So. 24.05.2026, 13:00-16:30
Die „TAWOO-Methode“ hat Kaoly über 30 Jahre lang entwickelt und damit tausenden von Mitgliedern ihrer Schule in Tokyo und international geholfen, diese bei sich selbst zu entdecken. Das Tolle ist: Die Grundprinzipien sind dabei nicht komplex sondern im Kern sehr einfach. In diesem Workshop wird Kaoly dich einerseits aus der Bequemlichkeit locken und dir andererseits in Verbindung mit dem Los- und Lockerlassen neue ungeahnte Türen in deinem Taiko-Spiel eröffnen... In diesem Workshop werden wir die rhythmische Welt der Polyrhythmen, Synkopen, On-Off-Beats, krummen Takte und Beat-Raster erforschen, also alles, was nicht nur auf 1-2-3-4 passt. Ein bisschen Musiktheorie/grafische Notation fliesst dabei mit ein, aber auf eine Art, die wenig akademisch und leicht nachvollziehbar für die allermeisten ist. Falls dich Zahlen und Zählen aber „nicht dein Ding“ sind, kannst dich hier ebenso auf die praktische Umsetzung auf der Taiko konzentrieren…
Der fließende und körperfreundliche Taiko-Stil den Kaoly Asano geschaffen hat ist auf der Welt einzigartig… Der natürliche Flow ihrer Bewegungen führt zu einer besseren Verbindung zwischen dir, deinem Körper und der Taiko. Er erweitert deine musikalischen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten und führt zu mehr Spaß, der durch Freiheit beim Spielen, gepaart mit mehr Selbstsicherheit am Instrument entsteht…
Nori’s Tawoo Approach - GOCOO Nori Mi. 27.05.2026, 18:00-21:30
Nori Suzuki ist seit fast 30 Jahren Mitglied der innovativen Taiko-Band GOCOO! Sie ist auch Vollzeit-Taiko-Lehrerin im TAWOO DOJO in Tokio. Dies ist das erste Mal, dass Nori ihre Herangehensweise ans Taiko in Europa unterrichtet.

Das wird ein Fest!
Wir freuen uns auf eine wirklich seltene Kombination aus Taiko-Gruppen aus der europäischen Taiko Community und aus Japan!
Mit einer großen Gruppe von 17 Mitgliedern reist TAWOO aus Japan an! das wird der größte Auftritt, den diese sehr aktive und große Taiko-Schule aus Tokyo jemals in Europa hatte. Da das Programm von KION DOJO zu einem großen Teil auf TAWOO-Prinzipien und TAWOO-Stücken basiert, formieren sich KION und TAWOO in diesem Konzert zu einem ganz besonderen Konzert-Highlight!
Wir freuen uns auf Gastauftritte der folgenden Gruppen:
Schon bei KionSai 2018 waren unsere Schweizer Freunde von Taiko Zürichmit dabei. Taiko Zürich ist eine sehr lebendige und frische Gruppe, die euch mit ihrer Energie und Spielkunst begeistern wird!
Seit 2020 machen die Taiko Bastardszuerst das Internet und später auch die Bühnen unsicher und sie werden das KionSai-Konzert beglücken! Und übrigens, falls du am 29. März noch nichts vor hast, besuche doch die Taiko Bastards in der JazzHall in Hamburg!
Seit vielen Jahren kennen wir die Bibong Flying Sticks aus Frankfurt. Sie werden uns mit einem Auftritt im koreanischen Trommelstil inspirieren!
Sie sind sehr kreativ und sind Meister im theatralischen Auftritt, wir freuen uns auf Sanbikiaus Italien.
Zwar ohne eigenen Gastauftritt, aber mit auf der Bühne begrüßen wir außerdem viele weitere Taiko-Freunde aus der Schweiz, Italien, Wales und weiteren Ländern!

THE TAWOO METHOD - Kaoly Asano Sun. 24.05.2026, 13:00-16:30
Kaoly has developed the "TAWOO Method" over 30 years and has helped thousands of members of her school in Tokyo and internationally discover this within themselves. The great thing is: the basic principles are not complex but at their core very simple. In this workshop, Kaoly will on the one hand pull you out of your comfort zone and on the other hand, in connection with letting go and loosening up, open new unexpected doors in your Taiko playing... In this workshop, we will explore the rhythmic world of polyrhythms, syncopation, on-off beats, odd time signatures, and beat grids – in short, everything that doesn't fit into 1-2-3-4. A bit of music theory/graphic notation will be included, but in a way that is not very academic and easy to understand for most people. However, if numbers and counting are "not your thing," you can also focus only on the practical application on the Taiko.
The flowing and body-friendly Taiko style that Kaoly Asano has created is unique in the world… The natural flow of her movements leads to a better connection between you, your body, and the Taiko. It expands your musical expression and leads to more fun, which comes from freedom in playing, combined with greater confidence on the instrument...
Nori’s Tawoo Approach - GOCOO Nori Wed. 27.05.2026, 18:00-21:30
Nori Suzuki has been a member of the innovative Taiko Band GOCOO for almost 30 years! She is also a full time taiko teacher at TAWOO DOJO in Tokyo. This is the first time Nori will be teaching her approach to taiko in Europe.

This will be a celebration!
We're looking forward to a truly rare combination of Taiko groups from the European Taiko community and from Japan!
With a large group of 17 members, TAWOO is traveling from Japan! This will be the largest performance this very active and large Taiko school from Tokyo has ever had in Europe. Since the program of KION DOJO is based to a large extent on TAWOO principles and TAWOO pieces, KION and TAWOO will form a very special highlight in this concert!
We're looking forward to guest performances from the following groups:
Our Swiss friends from Taiko Zürich were already with us at KionSai 2018. Taiko Zürich is a very lively and fresh group that will inspire you with their energy and musical skill!
Since 2020, the Taiko Bastards have first taken the internet and later the stages by storm, and they will delight the KionSai concert! And by the way, if you have nothing planned on March 29th, visit the Taiko Bastards at the JazzHall in Hamburg!
