Digital Is So 2019

On several occasions, I mentioned that I’d love to go back to analog photography, which has gotten a distinct “be careful what you wish for” vibe lately. Not only did I sort of inherit a Nikon FA with an intimidating array of lenses a while ago; last week I also sort of inherited a Toptron Microcam TC-505 toy camera for 110 film, a Rollei 35 SE, and a small stash of expired color negative and slide film. As Lomography in Vienna still manufactures them, I ordered a pack of three ISO 200 110 cartridges from their website and will soon try them out with the Toptron. If anyone’s out there who shoots—or used to shoot—with a Nikon FA or Rollei SE, I’d love to learn from your experiences!

Last week, I went back to my regular routines, starting off with a blog post at just drafts on Geoffrey Hinton’s terrible CBS interview on LLM/ChatGPT and another post on pen-&-paper illustrations at my Voidpunk blog. Also, I uploaded two new albums to Flickr, one with 10 images I took at and around the Seoul Millennium Time Capsule in South Korea and one with 33 images from Düsseldorf Medienhafen. Beyond that, there are my daily vintage-style travel squaries at Pixelfed and fresh posts at my betweendrafts and voidpunkverse Instagram accounts.

For the Sunday funnies, please enjoy these three “Pictures of the End” posts, from an account I dearly miss since I’ve left Twitter: a typical shot from a men’s soccer match, an offer artists can relate to, and a clever way how to protect your Xmas tree.
