Lots of things happened here throughout last week—particularly in the departments of eating, drinking, rotating in and out of our friends’ Finnish sauna, more drinking and eating, and having fun all day round. All of us were fully vaccinated and boosted, of course, and we regularly took rapid tests on top of it. And, after four long years, I was on an American base again! Got to buy stuff (especially huge containers full of pain killers from the drugstore), have a bite at the food court, and so on. Felt kinda home! (No Taco Bell, though, major bummer.) Oh, and not to forget, we also went to the movies and watched The Matrix Resurrections. Which I liked very much—on top of crying through the whole movie, basically, just for being back in the world of the Matrix again.
Then, New Year’s celebrations. In the greater Stuttgart area, where our friends live, you wouldn’t have noticed that fireworks weren’t allowed to be sold in Germany this year. On New Year’s Eve, all through the valley as far as the eye could see, people started blowing stuff up and into the sky around 10pm, and didn’t let up until well after midnight.
The only other thing I did was sending off my query letter to a literary agent right after Xmas. Otherwise, no blog posts, no uploaded images, no games to recommend, no fun shit posts and cat gifs I came across to distribute. Sorry about that! All this will commence soon, of course.
