My book’s page proofs arrived last week, and I will be exceptionally busy for the next ten days. Every mistake not caught by me during this time will find its way into the finished product, and I can already say—after speed-scrolling through the document—that not all illustrations have been placed where they should have been placed. As I also have to provide the index by May 31, together with my author-edited proofs, this complicates things a bit. We’ll see how everything works out. Unsurprisingly, you will find my web output for this week and the next noticeably reduced!
Last week, however, I still had enough time on my hands (some might say, too much) to write two blog posts for just drafts: one about why AI annihilating humanity is actually a business proposition, and one about OpenAI’s Sam Altman testifying before the senate subcommittee on privacy and technology. As to photos, I published a new album on Flickr with 30 shots from the Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution in Beijing; my daily vintage-style travel squaries at Pixelfed; and several Instagram posts at betweendrafts and voidpunkverse.
As for the Sunday funnies, I’m disastrously out of stock! So please enjoy these works of art instead: an animated fractal from the recently re-seeded Flame Reactor; a hurdy-gurdy performance; and an unboxing video of Shakespeare’s First Folio.
