July was packed, but that wasn’t the only thing that kept me. My SO was marathoning through their finals; the days kept getting longer and longer up to two, four, six o’clock in the morning with exciting new records in the consumption of energy drinks; and I kept staying up too, working on my own stuff, for solidarity and moral support. (Also, I’ve been a night owl anyway my whole life, and I enjoyed falling back into my old working-through-the-night patterns and enjoying the sunrise before hitting the sack, if just temporarily.) Last Thursday, everything was successfully passed and wrapped up, and proper celebrations ensued. Now I need a vacation!
Accordingly, my output was comparatively meager. I didn’t get around to writing movie reviews, so the pending markers together with good-natured complaints about them keep piling up. At least, I got around to writing a blog post for between drafts on what I think film analysis in education should be about; four posts or linked-list items at just drafts on the antics surrounding AI Coding Assistant Tools, AI-assisted coding productivity research, made-up citations in a Springer Nature book (on Mastering ML, no less), and the anti-intellectualism of the AI crowd, respectively; and a post over at my Voidpunk blog on (pen-&-paper) RPG Cinematics. As to images, I uploaded new albums to Flickr with photos from Taipei and Hualien and some fresh casual squaries to boot, and I’ve kept posting daily travel photos at Pixelfed.
As for the Sunday funnies, here are some arctic wolves checking out wildlife photographers, and a complaint from a guest to the hotel desk in the style of William Faulkner.
Enjoy!
