Virtual Spring Cleaning

Today, I invested almost three hours to deactivate six dormant Twitter accounts for good, and to freeze another 24—in use or semi-dormant—with goodbye tweets, best wishes, and glimpses of hope for a revival in a better future where Lord Elno has become ancient history. I really thought Twitter would run out of confirmation codes! Now, why so many? Over the years, every project & idée fixe got its own account, that’s one reason. And when Google killed Reader, I set up several accounts to serve as substitutes for blog and category RSS feeds, that’s another. Now I’m only keeping my primary account @gyokusai of full 16 years semi-alive—still some chametz, so to speak, but good enough for spring cleaning. It’ll do.

Last week, I published a post on Thaumaturgy at my Voidpunk blog; wrote on AI, education, and art in GPT: Like Crocodile Tears in Rain at my secret level just drafts; uploaded a new album to Flickr with 18 shots from the Zhenguo and Shuanglin temples in Pingyao, China; re-edited an image for Glass of a Korail Class 311000 Train at Songtan Station, South Korea; peppered Pixelfed with a daily dose of squaries; and posted one image set each at my Instagram accounts betweendrafts and voidpunkverse.

For the Sunday funnies, please enjoy this adventurous cat; this hilarious Evolution of the Humblebrag cartoon; and this awesome nine-second-documentary on how they did Empire Strikes Back’s most famous stunt shot. And yes, I know—these are Twitter links! Only when enough shitposters have found their ways to the Fediverse will that change.
