After a full week now back where I live, I’m still jet-lagged, which is unusual. Not only is it the first time I have trouble adapting to gaining time, it’s also a mere six-hours difference, not seven or eight. So what gives? I’m beginning to suspect foul play! Maybe it’s got to do with the cold I caught on my flight back, which is also the reason why I didn’t pick up doing sports again right away. Maybe that’s it. This week will show! In other news, I have a brand new haircut. Not a crewcut or something, but short. I was happy with having long hair again, like I used to have when I was a teenager. But it’s not humidity-proof. To keep it in shape was always modestly stressful in Japan and Taiwan, worse in Malaysia, and impossible in Singapore. Where by “stressful” I mean looking like Struwwelpeter in no time when going outside after about fifteen minutes of meticulous blow-drying. So, yeah—I’m a bit sad to see it go! But I’m fine with the memory of it.
Last week, I put two closely related blog posts online, one at between drafts on “Ideas and Inspiration” in the Age of LLMs, and one at just drafts on “I Use ChatGPT for Ideas and Inspiration” Is the New “I Read the Playboy for the Articles,” whose title phrase also happened to blow up on Mastodon. Also, I started editing photographs from Taipei! This time, I’m not uploading entire albums as I used to, but created several albums as buckets I gradually fill up—consisting, at this moment, of Cityscapes, Public Parks, Odds & Ends, and a Special Edition for squaries. Also, I resumed posting one vintage squarie per day on Pixelfed.
For the Sunday Funnies, here’s Elle Cordova’s latest skit The Errorist strikes again!. And, as a bonus for Dante aficionados, check out this perfect merchandise hook by The Onion.
Enjoy!
