Hey there! I've had an adventurous two weeks. The upcoming change I wrote about is finally here! I am now full-time on Identechal and Eripio. My last day with my employer was October 2nd, a few days earlier than the original October 6th end date. But, that may have been one of the coolest unexpected blessings I'm aware of recently. Because of the date being moved up, I got to participate in the 2026 Gloo AI Hackathon with my brother and a great friend, Andrew. It was awesome! We didn't place (that was expected), but it was an invaluable experience full of inspiration, connections, and pure fun as we step out onto the water to pursue our own businesses. I only learned about the hackathon two weeks before it began, and in a matter of hours we made the decision to attend, since we just-so-happened to already be traveling to Breckenridge, Colorado to visit a friend on the 8th. God moved a lot of things around to get this all in place. Thanks, God! :)
I don't know all that will come out of it, but I'm excited by the possibilities. So many good conversations were had, and I'm inspired by the people there. I loved hearing other people's stories about their journey to get there. This next week, I hope to continue the conversation with some of those I met.
The hackathon started on Tuesday, the 6th, and ended on Thursday. After it wrapped, we dropped our friend off at Denver International Airport that afternoon then drove to Breckenridge to spend a few days in the mountains and enjoy the coffee shops along the main strip. I hadn't seen our friend Coulton in over a year, since he moved out there to grow his artisan wooden furniture studio, STUDIO BECKER. He makes some of the most beautiful furniture I've ever seen. I'm serious—he doesn't even know I'm sharing this—you should take a look for yourself.
While in Breckenridge, we drove up a mountain, hiked up another one, and saw what is very likely the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It even snowed. 🥹 I'm back in Kansas now, getting ready to start my third full day. Here we go!
