The Circular Economy (Scotland) Act 2024 13 came into force in August. The Act requires the Scottish Ministers to prepare and publish a circular economy strategy; to make provision about circular economy targets; to make provision about the reduction, recycling and management of waste; and for connected purposes.

The 13 new laws resulted in amendment to 34 existing laws.

The Circular Economy (Scotland) Act 2024 sees repeals made to parts of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009, Environment Protection Act 1990 and Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989.
There were no other repeals or revocations in the month.
