New Laws
Thirty two (32) new EHS & HR laws came into force in the UK during November 2024.
Looking forward there are currently 12 new EHS related laws coming into force in December 2024, 8 in January, 1 in February, 2 in March, 3 in April, 1 in May and 1 in June 2025.
One new Act was published by the Scottish Parliament. The Climate Change (Emissions Reduction Targets) (Scotland) Act 2024 sets ambitious climate goals for Scotland to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve net-zero by 2045. It replaces previous climate legislation to ensure that Scotland meets its international climate commitments, particularly under the Paris Agreement, and establishes a framework for managing climate impacts and building resilience.
There were 21 new sets of Regulations and 10 new Orders. New laws affecting the 💚 HISTORIC ENVIRONMENT were prominent this month.
Updated Laws
The new laws resulted in amendment to 16 existing laws.
Repealed / Revoked Laws
There were 4 repeals in the month mainly affecting Welsh ancient monument laws.
