There are 2 tables of data: (1) legal register, (2) full-text articles.
Legal Register
The legal register table is simply a list of the laws in our database with associated metadata.
Our standard views have been extended because of the split in responsibilities for H&S law in Germany.
Here's what we have:
Minimal. This is the "tester" view for those without an Airtable subscription. There is only 1 row of data! In this case it's ArbSchG, the main federal H&S law for Germany.
Basic. Federal H&S and Environment laws that are likely to apply to most employers.
We've prioritised providing full-text of these laws (coming soon!) Please provide feedback on the list and recommend any laws that should be included.
Main. The federal H&S and Environment laws for which we have full-text.
All. Everything in the database including legal texts and technical rules published by BAUA and DGUV.
A new Share field has been created to hold country specific views. For Germany we have 2 views:
BAUA The suite of legal texts and technical rules published by BAUA. 187 in all. These have been assigned a Type field value of 'rule' and sub-types of 'technical', 'biological' and 'health'.
The Acronym field allows the records to be grouped based on the series acronyms used by BAUA: see the image.
DGUV The suite of regulations (Vorshrift) [62], rules (Regel) [178], informations [1058] and guidance (Grundsatz) [68] published by the DGUV. That's 1,366 records in total. We may support full-text for the important Vorshrift, but for now there are URLs to the documents on DGUV's website.
The Type field mirrors the regulations, rule, information and guidance types assigned by DGUV and the sub-type 'technical' is used for all. We can change sub-type if there is a proposal for a more useful taxonomy.
The Acronym field mirrors the Type field but with 'DGUV' text included that is useful for filtering when using the 'All' view (see above).
Unique to this view is the taxonomy of fachbereich and sachgebiet used by the DGUV. These have been translated to English too (see image). Useful for filtering and grouping the records.
Otherwise it's a standard register with title in German and English and URLs linking to the documents on the DGUV website.
The DGUV register took many hours to build, so we hope it's a useful way to navigate the large quantity of documents published by the DGUV.
We have built a script to quality check the URLs, but be sure to let us know if any are broken π
LΓ€nder The Minimal, Basic and Main views filter out state laws since we have no plans to support full-text for those.
There are many included in the All view. Use the Region field to filter, group and sort the records to surface those for the German states.
Full-Text Articles
Many are done, but more work is needed and they will be released later this month.
ILO
We started compiling a list of H&S laws based on those referenced on the website of the International Labour Organisation when building the database for Russia.
But the ILO doesn't maintain a page for Germany π₯ - see here Therefore, no ILO view for Germany! Welcome recommendation of an equivalent global resource.
