We monitor change across 50 families of new law and July was a quiet month. Everyone is on the beach or at the Olympics! Notable changes to agricultural policy in Scotland and other agricultural laws was the main highlight. New planning law for the Hornsea 4 offshore wind farm was published. Employment law saw amendments on tipping (gratuities) in the UK and working time in Northern Ireland.

Twenty (20) new EHS laws came into force in the UK during July 2024.

The Agriculture and Rural Communities (Scotland) Act 2024 came into force in July. The Act sets out the five objectives of Scottish agricultural policy. The objectives place considerations of environmental protection front and centre since they include objectives for:
- Adoption and use of sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices;
- Facilitation of on-farm nature restoration, climate mitigation and adaptation.
Updated Laws
The new laws resulted in amendment to 5 existing laws excluding commencement laws. Laws amended and rescinded by the above Act have yet to be pushed to the https://legislation.gov.uk database and are not included in this figure. For the full-list please buy me a coffee.
Repealed / Revoked Laws
