My experiences with crypto, so far...

I first heard about crypto several years back, probably around the time everyone else originally learned it was a thing. Then, about three or four years ago I bought a tiny amount of Bitcoin. I think I did the same for one or two other cryptos, but either way it wasn't much money. We're talking $5-$10 each.

About two and a half years ago I bought $5 of Dogecoin. This was once again where I put $5-$10 each in a couple random coins I've never heard of... at least I think that's why I did it. I mean, did anyone even know what Dogecoin was until a couple months ago? This was 2.5 years ago, haha!

All of a sudden, recently, I'm noticing my $5 of Dogecoin is MUCH more. Earlier this month it was over $1000 — and I never put more into it, the $5 grew on its own! 🤯 I quickly sold almost all of it. I even tweeted about it...

Then, over the next few days, I ended up putting it ALL back into Dogecoin (over a couple purchases). I figure this was money I didn't have in the first place, so I'm basically playing with house money (as you could say in a casino... because, crypto seems like a little bit of a gamble with how volatile it is right now). So, we'll have a little bit of a "YOLO" mindset in this (isn't that what the cool kids say these days? YOLO, lol).

I only kick myself in the butt occasionally, doing the math on if my initial Dogecoin purchase was more like $100... or especially if I really gambled and put something like $1000 (quick math for you, it would've become over $200k 🥺).

Since putting it all back into Dogecoin, I've seen it drop almost in half, then come all the way back up again... Currently, at the time of writing this, it's back over $1000 again. Let's see if Dogecoin makes it to $1 like some people are predicting!

Also, I still have some other coins, too... but Dogecoin has been the hot topic recently. I'm planning to, for now at least, regularly put a little bit of real money into this virtual Monopoly money system and see what happens.

I'd share a Dogecoin wallet as well, but they're not on Coinbase. Does Robinhood allow you to share a wallet address for receiving crypto from others?
