Thankful for the nurses and doctors

May 16, 2022

I just created this new website and over the last few days I’ve been moving all of my blog posts here. They were on my HEY World blog, but it made more sense to have them directly on my website. Seeing my most recent posts in the process really got me thinking, again, about this journey we’ve been on with my daughter Julia. (Read my last two posts if you’re not aware of what’s going on with her.)

It’s been about 9 months since she was diagnosed with cancer. It’s been a long and stressful time—many doctor appointments, chemotherapy, surgeries, and everything else that comes along with a child having cancer. We just finished her last round of chemo on May 6th. This week we’re going in to get scans, which will hopefully tell us the cancer is gone (and gone for good!.. but they can’t assure us of that portion, of course).

My family and I are so grateful for all the nurses and doctors that have been taking care of Julia along the way. Obviously, without them, we wouldn’t have been able to (hopefully 🤞) rid her of cancer.

Here’s a picture Julia took with some of the nurses (that gave her chemotherapy every other week) on the last day of chemo.
