Woods World (Dec. 17 to Dec. 24)

The best eye makeup remover just got better. For years, I've been a fan of the tried-and-true blue packaged Neutrogena wipes. I recently bought the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Face Cleansing Makeup Wipes with Hyaluronic Acid and it's the upgrade I didn't know I was waiting for. They are equally exceptional at removing makeup (including waterproof), great for sensitive skin and successfully hydrate my dry undereye area.

Throw away your dryer sheets. Replace them with these Smart Sheep wool dryer balls. They are eco-friendly, last thousands of washes, soften your clothes naturally and reduce drying time. I was always an ardent user of both fabric softener and dryer sheets; that all changed once I bought these. (Also, when I'm folding laundry,
my cat thinks they are a really fun toy ... but that's neither here nor there.)

There are foods I miss from New York.
Alongside Carvel cake, black and white cookies and Entenmann's crumb cake (it's a different recipe out of state!), I found that I truly missed good deli macaroni salad. This recipe, from Happily Unprocessed, is as close as it gets. And, it tastes just as good when I swap out the mayo for my egg-free Vegenaise.

Like true crime and stories that just keep unraveling? Read Journal of the Dead, a compelling book about a guy who admits to killing his best friend in the desert. While traveling cross-country, the two became lost in Rattlesnake Canyon for multiple days. When the authorities find him, they attempt to unravel how they got lost and why this "mercy killing" could have occurred. It's a fascinating story unlike any other I've heard (or read) and the writer keeps you engaged to the last word.

Need a backpack for commuting and travel (not backpacking)? Check out the Solo Re:Define Laptop Backpack, Black, 15.6", which is an amazing 52% off on Amazon right now and worth every penny. A few months back, I was looking to replace a well-worn Swiss Army backpack. The best-rated options tended to be either those being used as luggage or those for actual backpacking. This one has just enough compartments to be organized (and not confusing), can hold a MacBook, has a water-resistant coating and looks simple and adult enough for a daily commute or travel.
