Looking for an engaging historical fiction read? Try The Longest Night by Andria Williams, which simmers with Cold War tension. A young wife struggles in a remote military town while her husband grapples with a dangerous secret about a nuclear reactor. Love triangles, cover-ups and the fear of disaster threaten to tear their lives apart. This debut novel explores trust, sacrifice and the hidden costs of doing what's "right." (And although it's completely different than both of them, it reminded me of both Revolutionary Road and Brokeback Mountain.)
Looking for a simple way to save money without trying? Open an Acorns investment account. (Safely) link your bank accounts/credit cards and Acorns will invest your rounded-up spare change. I've used Acorns for years and it's amazing how quickly small amounts of money that you don't miss can add up for your future goals. There's an easier way to keep your toilet clean and it's the Kaboom Scrub Free! Toilet Bowl Cleaner System. This is definitely one of the less fun recommendations I've offered up, but I think it's safe to say that no one wants to spend their time scrubbing their toilet. This helps keep your toilet clean and smelling fresh without the work. Also - it won't harm your septic system or damage any tank parts.
If you need to peel garlic, you should have this weird silicone tube roller. You simply put a garlic clove in the tube, roll it back and forth for several times and the garlic skin will easily come off. It saves time and keeps the garlic scent off your hands.
Sheet pan chicken fajitas that aren't mushy? Check out Nom Nom Paleo's Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas. The recipe is simple to make, extra easy to clean up and solves for the mushiness that usually comes from most sheet pan fajita recipes I've tried. Added bonus - the avocado crema is SO good.
