Modus Operandi

The following are short guidelines (on building, leading, business) from me to myself.
It's a curated list from content I read over the years.
I regularly update this list.
These apply a special meaning to me as an individual - either strongly reflecting truths I already knew to be true, or forcing focus on aspects I need to improve.

Make it work. Make it right. Make it fast.

Don't do difficult things.
Make them easy - and then do them.

When you begin, you begin.

Do the most important thing until either it ships or it's not the most important thing any more.

Don’t let perfect get in the way of good.

Don’t worry about failure. You only have to be right once.

You Are Not Gonna Need It.

Use AI in the beginning. Use AI in the end. Don't use it in the middle 80%.

AI usage trades speed for knowledge and competence.
Know when to trade and what you're trading.

If a project is innovative in a business sense, choose boring technology.
If it is boring in a business sense, choose interesting technology.

Balance DRY with locality of behaviour and separation of concerns.

The journey of 10.000 steps starts with a single step.

No news is good news.

A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.

When conditions change, beliefs and activities should change to match.

Don’t move information to authority. Move authority to information.

Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.

Be the leader you wish you had.

You don’t buy a car to put gasoline in it. You buy it to go somewhere.

There are no good slow decisions.
