Today we gathered on the chilly shore of Cayuga Lake for the Theophany Outdoor Blessing of Water. As always, a solemn and joyful time. Afterward we returned to Holy Apostles Church for much-appreciated coffee, cocoa, and goodies.
The cross airborne. If you look closely you can see that it's attached to land by a rope, so it could be hauled in without anyone needing to dive in the lake to retrieve it.
The voice of the Lord is upon the waters, crying: Come, one and all, receive the Spirit of wisdom, the Spirit of understanding, the Spirit of the fear of God, from Christ who now has shone forth!
