About Jordan Acosta

Jordan is a British speculative fiction writer based near London and Creative Director at Unseen Histories, bringing the past to life for The Times, LIFE and Unsplash. His published non-fiction work can be found here.

His debut manuscript is in its second draft. Dark Century collides 17th century witch hunts with the nuclear-tinged shadow of le Carré’s Cold War in a speculative novel set in Greenland centuries after the ice shelf has melted.

Something stalks the riverlands of New Eden.

In its wake, death and sickness follow, and the Danish Kingdom’s northern provinces writhe in the hysterical grip of witch fever.

Provost Martin Kolding — a ruthless servant of the Interior Ministry — journeys to Nordbredden to investigate the rising tally and restore order.

Ulyana, a half-Russian, half-Chinese survivor of the Atrocity, ekes out a miserable existence in a ruined wasteland she once called home.

As Kolding attempts to make sense of the madness, he unravels a much darker secret buried for decades in the remote fringes of New Eden: a secret which not only entwines Kolding and Ulyana’s fates, but threatens to destabilise the tenuous peace between the Danish Kingdom and the other superpowers in the Arctic Circle.

You can find him on whatever-they're-calling-Twitter-nowor on the Edinburgh SFF Writers group despite the fact he lives 400 miles away.
