Recently, I listened to a talk at my church that really stuck with me. A few things hit home—simple ideas on how to show love.
1. Fathers and Sons:
If you have a son, tell him you’re proud of him. That affirmation matters, and—like the speaker said—if you don’t, it’s unlikely anyone else will step up in quite the same way. Our boys need to know they’re valued and that their father sees the good in them.
2. Fathers and Daughters:
For daughters, let them know they’re beautiful. Not just in appearance, but in who they are. If they don’t hear this at home, they’ll look for that affirmation elsewhere, sometimes in places we’d rather they didn’t. Your words can shape their sense of self-worth.
3. Speaking about Jesus:
Finally, the speaker made a point I want to work on: “If Jesus matters to you, don’t be afraid to talk about Him.” Our faith isn’t just something private—it’s meant to be a conversation, something we share. If you love something, or Someone, it’s natural to speak about them. Faith deserves that same openness.
