Waiting without your phone

Before cell phones were common place, we had limited options for how to pass the time while in line somewhere or in a waiting room.

Depending on where you were, maybe there was a TV to watch. Magazines to read. People watching is a great option. Or, you could just zone out and spend some time inside your head.

But now when we’re waiting, it’s common to pass the time on your phone reading, scrolling social media, watching videos, or playing a game.

And that’s all fine, but I feel like if you’re the type of person who doesn’t mind people watching or zoning out, now that’s weird. It feels like...why are you just sitting there? It feels like I *should* have my phone out.

Do you feel this way?
