Hey there!
This one is super random but I’ve always been curious about other peoples desk setups. I love learning how everyone works and seeing what tools they use to get things done.
I’m currently traveling so forgive me as I don’t have a real “desk” but here’s a picture of my mobile setup on any given day.
- iPad Pro 12.9 inch (2021) - I converted most of my workflow from a mac to iPad, which was a big surprise for me. The ability to attach and detach to a keyboard is so helpful when working on set.
- Magic Keyboard - Game changer for anyone with an iPad that also writes a lot.
- Apple Pencil for digital note taking / writing handwritten notes on PDF scripts
- AirPods Pro
- Moleskine Notebook for writing my Weekly Reviews, Daily To Do lists and general thoughts about life, love and the pursuit of happiness!
- Pen and Pencil. While I write everything using a pen in my notebook, I like to use a pencil to scratch off the tasks I’ve completed.
- Kindle Book Reader - Game changer
Daily Apps
- I use Apple Notes and Pages for writing script notes and other documents. The collaboration feature on Pages is really great. I’m also halfway through a book called Building a Second Brain by Tiago Forte where he talks about how to better organize and manage all the digital notes we take and find ways to make those usable for when we’re writing or doing research.
- Scriptation for annotating, and reading scripts
- Final draft for writing scripts
- Movie Magic Budgeting and Scheduling
- Basecamp for project management / team communication
- Evercast for Remote Editing
- Zoom
- IMDbPro
It’s really amazing how we can work from anywhere in the world these days.
I’d love to know what tools YOU use to get things done, along with seeing a picture of your badass desk setup. I’m ready to learn!
