Sunday Letter: On Keeping a Notebook

“It is a good idea to keep in touch, and I suppose that keeping in touch is what notebooks are all about… I think we are well advised to keep on nodding terms with the people we used to be, whether we find them attractive or not… Remember what it was to be me; that is always the point.” - Joan Didion, American literary journalist, novelist, and memoirist

On my birthday, I watched as the dark of night slowly transformed into the early light of day. The half moon shined bright as the clouds hurried by. Our cat sat at my feet while I looked up to greet the new day in silence. The quiet moments to keep in touch with yourself go unnoticed by the world, but will be felt long after your gone.

Are you capturing your life in a notebook?

Be well,

Kathy
