I still don't understand how most organizations, public and private, forfeited the opportunity to go Remote First. The Covid lockdown period was an experiment in which the whole world participated and saw it was possible to run entirely remotely. My best guess is that Remote work is inconvenient to organization leaders, as it requires a different set of skills they are not willing to learn.

I've seen some organizations prorating remote work days, which is still some form of benefit like flexible hours, but does not lead the organization to truly attain remote work benefits.
