I've been after mattlangford.com for years. For a long time it was an inactive blog by someone (I would hope another Matt Langford) who wouldn't respond to my emails. For the last few years, it has been for sale for a premium price I could in no way justify paying. I made multiple offers (low triple digits) in an attempt to acquire it, but I was rebuffed every time without even a counter offer.
They obviously never found someone to pay their asking price, so they put it up for public auction. I put in my bid and won. Total cost? $10.
Next up: Getting my wife's name as a domain name. It's currently a website for someone who hasn't updated the site in over 20 years. But I do respect their decision to keep paying for it.
