Everyone has moments with being faced in a frustrating or upsetting situation. The natural human tendency tends to be anger, but it does not need to be. The funny thing about time is you could never go backwards. All you can do is keep moving forward. One place you definitely do not want to stay though is in place. Staying in place to constantly revisit mistakes and constantly ret triggering the anger or frustration is not helpful or healthy.
Moving forward might come very easy for some people, but for others, it may take decades to figure out how to do this if they figure it out at all. I look back at my professional career and just shake my head had some of the things that I did out of anger and frustration and deciding to stay in place with those emotions.
The old saying goes with age comes wisdom, but I don’t always find that to be true. I find that wisdom comes from people who choose to learn from their experiences. I also find that wisdom comes from the ability to share lessons-learned with others to help them avoid the moments that caused the learning to take place. Sometimes it’s not always successful, but it is always worth the effort.
Because I work in the mortgage industry as well as banking, the only thing that’s constant is change. If anyone continues to keep doing what they used to do because that’s what they always did, they will surely be forgotten and passed by. Never be that person or company, and find ways to move forward!
