What is your main focus for 2024?

As I write this there are about 45 days left in the year which by any stretch of the imagination will be gone in a blink. This leaves you with wondering what is your main plan or main focus for 2024 going to be? You may be part of the group that is still trying to do everything they can each month just to stay alive, But that cannot be your only focus. There are major shifts coming for us all in 2024 and you need to figure out what you were going to do to take advantage of them. My two main focuses for 2024 are to support as many companies in their journey to the web for their Encompass platform, and to focus on helping build a retail lending presence in southern New Jersey / Pennsylvania, stretching east and south from Philadelphia to Long Beach Island.

The journey to the web for the Encompass®️ platform has already started and will be fully completed by the end of 2024. Too many companies are not focusing on the changes that they could have been making throughout this year, but for the ones who have made adjustments, they are already reaping the rewards. The best way to help others with this journey is to provide consistent information as well as a space to find what they missed as well as critical steps to support them as they catch up. I have created this over at Mortgage.Community and look forward to seeing how many we can actually help. I had a similar moment in 2021 when I helped several thousand people across the country become familiar with the new 1003 - URLA. I expect this will be a similar “lightning in a bottle” moment and look forward to helping as many people as possible.

I originally entered the mortgage banking space as a retail loan processor in 1993. Over the following 20 years, I built up a very loyal following of borrowers and mostly successful businesses, helping borrowers across the eastern part of the country with their home financing. The good news for me is that there are a couple of opportunities to reignite that success without interfering the work that we are doing at Mortgage Workflow Partners. I look forward to getting back to my roots and not only helping borrowers indirectly through the work that I do at Mortgage Workflow Partners, but also helping borrowers directly through retail lending operations. It should be an extraordinarily exciting time in 2024.

The whole point of this post is to remind you that there is always time for planning each and every day. Just because you’re working hard doesn’t mean you can’t look up and make sure you’re headed in the right direction. Do not wait until 2024 to figure out what you’re going to be doing because by then, it may be too late. Figure out what your main focus for 2024 needs to be especially if there is more than one thing. I look forward to your success.

About Larry Bailey

As the Founder and CEO of Mortgage Workflow Partners Inc., I consistently work with clients who are generally underserved. We provide services to help our clients understand and document their workflow so that they may exploit every aspect of the technology they are already using. If additional technology is needed, we assist our clients in using the most appropriate and cost-effective solutions. We train our clients on all the technology they are using to ensure complete success throughout their company. My newest online community for the mortgage industry can be found at https://mortgage.community. It is a forum of various topics from various providers, and it is free and open for anyone to join, regardless of where they work. Education and sharing information to help others is the bedrock of growth in our industry.

Figuring out solutions to complex problems is a passion of mine.  I started my career in mortgage banking in 1993 as a loan processor for a mortgage broker. There was a clear future in helping people with home financing as well as other mortgage banking professionals. After 30 years and counting, my resolve to help everyone, from borrowers to peers, remains unchanged. I have helped company after company develop and grow to be something much bigger and better for themselves and their customers, which is always my intention. Because of my experience in the complete life-of-loan workflow and my extensive technology background, I can help others see how to determine a path to success and then help everyone through the journey to completion. Pivots happen too, but that is what makes life interesting.

I enjoy spending time with family, hiking, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and snowboarding whenever possible.
