Heard Something, Read Something, Saw Something [#4]

Here's my 4th post which I had modelled after Jason Fried's series.

Heard Something

In good and tough times, I always come back to a quote from one of my favourite figures, Naval.

A calm mind, a fit body and a house full of love. They can't be bought. They are earned and cultivated.

I heard that in my mind again when I hit the brick walls this week. In fact, I made this quote onto a poster so I can gently be reminded.

Read Something

I have always look out for Taylor Pearson's newsletter and this is an interesting one which sing out to me this week:

"... you can spot who is going to do great things by what they do on airplanes. They don’t pull out the laptop and grind spreadsheets. Instead, they read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance or pick up insights on human behavior from the great novelists."

"You never know what will prod your creativity, and the more widely you prospect, the more likely you are to find that something to set your offerings apart from all of your competitors."

It reminded me of real-life scenarios where one wants to improve their life by devouring tons of self-improvement books. Most of these books wouldn't tell any more difference, but reading a variety of books may do its magic without you realising it. Curiosity is key and it has mileage.

Seen something

New South Wales was placed in lockdown recently. Below this is a creative piece by their Police Force, using their rail map to outline the boundaries one can travel in.
