As Eurovision 2021 ramps up, I was reminded that Eurovision 2020 never chose a winner. The pandemic shut down the contest, and instead of awarding a winner remotely without live performances, they simply did not choose a winner. That means Russia's 2020 entrant, Little Big, was robbed.
Little Big came to Eurovision 2020 with their song Uno and a vision. Even before the music begins, that's a pretty striking visual. When paired with the music - the camera zooms, cuts, outfits, colors, and choreography - it all just works. In a strange and wonderful way.
Is it the best song ever? No. Heck, I'm not sure Uno is even Little Big's best song - they were my 2020 top artist on Spotify, I should know. But Little Big far outperformed every other entry that Uno was the top viewed Eurovision video - of any year - every single month in 2020.
