With leadership shifts happening around the world, the next few years will likely look different from the last few. Some businesses are excited about that, but most of those I work with are apprehensive about how things may change for them and their communities.
As we enter this time of uncertainty, I would like to share two thoughts I hope you will find helpful:
As Mr. Rogers taught us, look for the helpers.
If, like me, you’re worried about this moment, remember that in every crisis, there are helpers.
Look for inspiration, action plans, and the people and organizations working to make life a little kinder for those around them. If we look for them, we’ll find them in almost every situation. But we have to look because they are usually not getting the attention on the Gram or wherever you get your news.

But we have to look because they are usually not getting the attention on the Gram or wherever you get your news.
The best way to relieve anxiety is to take action.
Now is a great time to ask ourselves how we can become helpers ourselves. The best place to begin is right there in your local community. Some questions to consider:
- What are the causes you really care about?
- Have you checked on your neighbors to ensure they have what they need?
- Have you talked with your team to see where you can support them?
Where could you lend an hour or a helping hand to those who need it right now?
