The downside of online visibility...

The downside of online visibility...

Being involved in many projects, posting on LinkedIn or on my blog means that over time I've become quite visible online...

And as time goes by, the increasingly sophisticated hack / phishing attempts are intensifying.

During the Christmas and New Year weeks, I had more than 10 phishing attempts in total...

A pleasure.

But I just saw something "new" that I didn't know about.

TestFlight is a tool offered by Apple that allows companies to have users test beta iOS applications.

By default, the tool is perfectly legitimate and used by all companies in the world that want to have their applications tested on iOS.

But I've just seen a misuse of it—take a look at the image I'm attaching to this post.

A fake company "OpenAI Advertising LTD" tried to get me to load an IPA (probably malicious, I didn't download it) onto my iPhone.

And if you look closely, yes, the email really does come from Apple... it's legitimate.

So these guys managed to temporarily bypass the security of the TestFlight review process...
