I wrote in this post about my idea for a Universal Income Cooperative and have been asked, "why a cooperative?".
A cooperative would be an ideal structure because its strengths align with the goals of such a scheme.

Run for the Benefit of its Members
This is important for an enterprise that is aiming transfer as much as possible to its members and as little as possible to costs of management and transfer.
But no one is in charge?!
Cooperatives still have a management structure similar to other organisations, there are usually elections that are held to choose the management each year.
The cooperatives that I am a member of (Bank Australia and the RACQ) both work in this way.
