So I spend a little lot of time on the internet and while doing that I tend to save a lot stuff. This stuff could be cool photos, interesting articles or websites that have piqued my interest. I have gathered hundreds of items over the years and that isn't slowing down anytime soon with so many creative people out there! So I hope you enjoy following along with this stuff I share with you and feel free to send me things you have found that you think are cool (they might even get featured!).
I think it goes without saying but nothing you’ll read about or see has been sponsored in any way, shape or form… as of writing this I have 2 subscribers (who I deeply cherish!). So without further ado, let’s see some stuff!
MyMind
So I think it makes sense to start at the beginning, like all good stories do. The only way I have been able to save all of this stuff is by saving it to MyMind. “MyMind is the extension for your mind” - it allows you to see something, save it and it’ll sort it for you. No worrying about making folders upon folders, you just “add to my mind” and you’re done. Their AI will automatically tag what you have saved and you can then later search for tags and it’ll surface up all items that have the same tag. You can even create separate spaces that are smart! This means you can create a space that gathers all “car” and “mechanic” tagged items together into one place.
Above is MyMind, you can see the types of things I have saved and each item has its own unique design when saved (see the Father Figure album saved as a vinyl record!)
MyMind also lets you save articles which get stripped of adverts and gives you a TLDR along with a distraction free reader view so you can truly focus on what matters. So as you can see MyMind has become the backbone for saving all of this stuff that I find cool, interesting and useful etc.
Lando Norris
The current F1 driver for McLaren recently released a new website (perhaps it isn’t new? It’s new to my eyes so that counts!) and it’s got a really awesome liquid effect that reveals his helmet design masked above his face?! It’s pretty cool and I highly suggest you check it out (works best on desktop as the cursor is used to reveal the helmet). https://landonorris.com/
Flask - Video Collaboration
Flask is a video collaboration tool aimed to aid creatives in their workflow. Think Notion + Loom for video. It’s created by Enrico Tartarotti, most notably a YouTube content creator who’s focus has been on the decisions made behind the everyday tech we use. It’s worth watching the video he created to really see how cool this is but there is a sneak peak below
I was scrolling my Twitter (will always be Twitter never X!) timeline and I came across this awesome editorial layouts posted by Oliver and they spoke to me. There was something about the punchy text on a black and white picture along with these swirls that just looked great! I’m a sucker for a good editorial layout, and these below hit the nail on the head for me.
(This is a screenshot of how Tweets look when saved to MyMind)
The library of minds
This website showcases AI Delphi, a LLM powered assistant that lets you chat with someone's persona. But that isn't the focus for today. The real highlight is The Library of Minds - a collection of exclusive interviews featuring Silicon Valley investors to critically acclaimed authors. I have found the episodes insightful and you don't even need to interect with the AI if you don't want to. The website design is beautiful, the blurred background is actually a video playing which I think adds a level of dynamism.
We've come to the end of this first edition of Some Cool Stuff, I hope you found some of these cool - totally fine if you didn't! I want to thank you for reading this newsletter. If you want to see more of this content in your inbox then sign up in the form below (I am aiming to publish one of these a month so you won't get spammed!).
