Twitter, the new alternatives and why it matters

If the people we're surrounded by can shape the way we think about the world, then the same is true for the people we meet online. We inherit the culture of the digital communities and platforms we spend time on.

Platforms that give us limited control over the people and content we see are dangerous. They have a higher ability to influence us. And the questions that remain are a) who do we trust to influence us, and b) how is that trust moulding us.

I don't know whether I'll stick by Elon's Twitter (X) or go all in on Bluesky or Threads. But I do have a good sense for the kind of people I want to have around. People who are kind, curious, open-minded and constructive. People who listen and who always assume good intentions first. The places I'll pick will reflect that search.
