So this is something new - an email platform bringing back the good ol' blog (which never really disappeared, I know), and reaching back to the Old Way, web-wise. Not only does Hey.com do email how it should be done - that is, for *email* not as another platform for some faceless Google-Corp to track your habits and sell to you - but they also do a blogging platform how it should be: old-style web, without trackers or advertising, and just... simply great.

I'm loving HEY - the best digital move I've made in a decade. 

Yes, I'm paying for email: but I'm also paying for a service which isn't tracking me, isn't selling me to the lowest bidder, or any other shady shit. Just a great email client which exposes the emails I want to see (after my own personal vetting of each sender), and just makes it nice to get email again.

And I haven't blogged properly in forever, and I doubt I'll promote this anywhere since it has my real name on it (and who uses their real name anywhere that isn't business-related anymore?), but it'll be a nice notepad regardless.

I miss the old Web. It's nice to feel I'm at least reaching back to it a little.
