Jablonec nad Nisou (Czech Republic)
The weather remains changeable. A front with cool temperatures and rain. Sometimes a short thunderstorm or a heavy shower. Then, out of nowhere, the temperature rises to summery heights. That's when we go to the lake. It's the most beautiful place in town.
People lie on the shore, children splash in the water, canoes and stand-up paddle boats glide across. It's a pleasant atmosphere. We walk along the shore, through a small wooded area and across an open meadow, then along the road and over the big bridge to the other side of the lake. Along the promenade, lined with apartment blocks, back to the starting point.
We take advantage of the few days when the weather is good. Otherwise I'm tired. Maybe because I hardly slept at all last night. But also for other reasons. Travelling, as we still do, takes a lot of energy and you get tired. We stay in almost every accommodation for four weeks, then we move on. Rarely a little longer.
Packing up and setting off again, arriving and having to find your bearings again and again. All this has left its mark. It's been ages since I had a real holiday, a time to let go. And it doesn't look like the next one is coming.
It's a period of reorientation. At the end of this phase, there's not much new on paper, but a decision. We want to go to Spain and spend the winter further south. So the journey continues for now.
