Not really much to share. I spent the day on the road pretty much. No National Parks.
I stayed at a hotel kind of close to where the Texas Rangers play ball, but I missed the shuttle and had to walk. Then I didn’t know where to find the shuttle stop, so I ended up walking back. This part of town isn’t super pedestrian friendly, but I got a nice view of Six Flags. I also learned that the International Bowling Hall of Fame is here.
In general, I wasn’t a huge fan of the ballpark. At the end of the 2019 season, they moved from their regular old fashioned ballpark
across the street to their fancy new ballpark. It generally felt soulless to me… more like an airport terminal than a ballpark.
One thing I did like was that after a Ranger hit a home run (it happened three times for their 10-5 assault on Detroit), they played some of the theme from The Natural. Instant frisson for me every time. I definitely appreciated the theater of that and the indoor fireworks, even though none of the shots were of the quality of the end of the movie!
