I have had these Sorel duck shoes for a few years now. (I don't know if I have a photo from the beginning but here is a stock photo I found somewhere online)
Using these during the harsh 20F of Feb 2022 was especially difficult because at one point I was wondering why are my right foot toes freezing off earlier than the left ones? Turned out I had a weird 1 inch crack in the rubber . Only during using them in Dec 2022 did I realize actually I could use "duct-tape" on the "duck-shoes". I don't know whether the duct tape is waterproof though.
I have to find a photo of the crack at some point, but the good news is that recently I discovered Shoe Goo and here is what the process looks like of forming a patch. I am super curious whether this works next time I try them in a rain commute!
