Lock your bikes 😅

This U lock is difficult to see in this photo as well as in Real Life!

They are so tough to see that I had recently left my "U lock" twice , in September and in October , but I promptly  replaced it!

Actually last night my Citibike had a flat tire and I switched up for a shiny new bike, and made my way home, but I realized, oh no I left the U Lock again! But this time I thought maybe I will get lucky because I had clicked the "🔧" wrench icon because of the flat tire, so maybe the U lock would still be there.

Sure enough 🥹 relieved it was still there

And so I did not need to replace this one.

But what's with the U Locks ? Haha because  you can't leave even a Citibike outside unattended. Last year I was leaving my citibike outside all the time, just to grab some food at a Chipotle say, but on September 25th, 2022  my ride was not there when I came back outside. I reported this to Lyft and then we waited.

Even after 15 hours 57 minutes, the bike still did not get docked. So I had given up hope that someone just took it for a quick opportunity ride.

The ride automatically ended after 25 hours ,

The 25 hour $104.52 is however not the same as the roughly  up-to $1,200 bike replacement fee .

This time I got really lucky because I only got hit with 20% of this ,

And the 25 hour ride was refunded too

So yea, those darn U locks are difficult to see but I will keep using them and keep replacing them too.
