Quick start to the season

Or, alternatively put, did I even have an off-season?

First race in two weeks. Competing in something I haven't done seriously since high school: The Mile.

Due to recent illness and some minor injuries, I won't be hitting a PR or even blazing around the track at any amazing pace. Originally aimed for 5:30 but I'll likely need to reset to a more modest goal (to be determined later).

Once I close out February with that race, it's right into heavy swimming and cycling work to get ready for Multisport Nationals in April. I've technically started back into the pool, but circumstances are greatly limiting my time so far. Realistically my goal is just to be comfortable in the water for long periods as a couple of my races are longer swims (up to nearly a mile). Speed will not be the aim during any of my swims.

Not sure how things will look after April. It would likely be wise to use the Summer as an off-season and focus on some events in the Fall (probably half marathons), but that would mean giving up on the Great Virtual Race Across Tennessee (GVRAT) before I even considered doing it.

More thoughts later.
