I am going to use this space to document some thoughts about the journey.
What journey? The one towards the future.
As a preview, we’ll start from a point. In late 2018, after a season of getting back into triathlon shape, I turned my eye towards the future. What races did I want to compete in? Which distances did I want to aim for? Was there a bucket list of races to target?
We’ll get to the details about races later on. What I did conclude at the time was that I needed to change a lot of my practices if I wanted to truly accomplish these objectives. From training, to sleep, to recovery techniques, and overall health in general, I had a lot of improvement to achieve.
(Here’s the real secret, foreshadowing the eventual conclusion: there’s always avenues for improvement.)
I’ve done plenty of research and reading, a lot of examination of my training, and spent a fair amount obtaining the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed.
All of it is irrelevant without the first step though. Without the drive to begin, the journey never starts.
The details will come over time, as I note my reflections here.
If you read this, though, do not wait to take your own first step. You can come back later for more, but getting started is process for right now. Go do it.
