Pixel Perfect Picks #10 - Funk, 10x Coding, Picks

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

While searching for the perfect summer mix, I'm hopping from one Spotify playlist to another. But somehow, I ended up discovering some amazing live mixes on YouTube. I stumbled upon a true gem of soul, funk, and gospel, which I can't stop listening to. If you have any recommendations, feel free to reply to this email and share your summer picks with me!

Read Something

As you probably already know, I'm a huge fan of 37signals' content. Every time I read something about their work process and philosophy, I feel like I'm discovering and learning something new. This time, I came across an article about the perfect environment for programming—the myth of the 10x developer.

Saw Something

Here, I have to make an exception and promote myself a bit. Currently, I am writing about design details that fascinate and inspire me. I share these in small posts on LinkedIn and Twitter (or is it X now 🤷‍♂️), and I thought it would be a great fit for the concept of Pixel Perfect Picks as well. From time to time, I will integrate these posts here too. If you ever come across something interesting, feel free to send it to me!

Until next time. Keep creating awesome stuff ✌️

If you like these and think someone else might too, please forward it on. They can subscribe to this newsletter right at the top at https://world.hey.com/mrvn. Thank you.

About Marvin Messenzehl

I love working in the realm between design and code. Some things that make me excited are CSS, Interaction design, Javascript, and making interfaces feel fun and human.

Currently, I'm designing & building interfaces for the podcast app of RTL +.  Besides that, I'm teaching UX and UI design at Memorisely.
