Pixel Perfect Picks #101 - Vibe Coding, Designing and a little bit of brain rot

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Saw Something

I actually don't like the term vibe coding at all, but I still have to mention it here because Ridd has put together a fantastic playbook with all his learnings from the past few months. And the little trick of using another LLM as a sort of CTO has already been a small game changer for my projects.

Read Something

So many AI tools have already made their way into my work routine. But I also use a lot of them privately, and I must say they really make certain tasks easier for me. However, I also have to say that I view the entire development critically to a large extent. My friend Jonas has already found some interesting reports on this in Time. The studies there may not be aimed at a large population, but they do show the influence that AI tools are already having on our brains.

Heard Something

Instead of focusing on vibe coding, it's now also about vibe designing. The vision of a kind of cursor for designers has been around since the first AI tool. However, no one has really implemented it well so far. I recently looked at Subframe, which brings a quite interesting approach. I don't see it as the new major design tool, but the approach is definitely exciting.
