Pixel Perfect Picks #111 - Midori, Long Walks, Hollow Knight

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Saw Something

A few weeks ago I started writing three pages every morning. It's the Morning Pages method and it does wonders for my mind. I've already filled my first notebook and immediately grabbed the next one. Finally I can take one out of my drawer: a Midori MD Journal from Japan. Now I can never use any other notebook again!

Read Something

I don't even remember whether I mentioned this here before, but while I was sick in bed the last few days I finally finished The Long Walk by Stephen King — or rather Richard Bachman, the pseudonym King used to publish it. I really enjoyed the book. It dragged a bit in the middle, but it picks up a lot toward the end! Now I need some new reading recommendations for the autumn.

Heard Something

I think it’s impossible at the moment not to hear anything about the new Hollow Knight: Silksong. I have to admit I still had the first game on my pile of shame, but that changed over the weekend when I finally played it. What a brilliant game!
