Pixel Perfect Picks #127 - Slowchess, Claude Skills, Live Music

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Saw Something

At the moment I'm spending more and more time playing chess again. Somehow it always catches up with me in winter, and I really enjoy it, especially when it's offline and away from the screen. Still, I watch lots of videos, matches and analyses on my computer. A somewhat newer and incredibly entertaining lesson series I like is this video series by Levy.

Read Something

When Brian Lovin publishes something, I'm 11 out of 10 confident that it's well thought out and pure gold. Maybe I'm a bit biased as a longtime Design Details fan. Lately Brian has been sharing a lot of Claude and Claude Code tips on Twitter, including his Claude Code config, which I also find absolutely brilliant!

Heard Something

Loyle Carner has definitely become one of my absolute favorite artists. Last year I attended a concert and it was simply amazing. Now I’ve discovered this little live album and I love revisiting those memories with it.

About Marvin Messenzehl

I love working in the realm between design and code. Some things that make me excited are CSS, Interaction design, Javascript, and making interfaces feel fun and human.

Currently, I'm designing & building interfaces at DAYY.  Besides that, I'm teaching UX and UI design at Memorisely.
