Pixel Perfect Picks #130 - Faces, Big Things, Hyper Key

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Saw Something

I have probably lost track of how many slide decks I've created in my life. Most of the time, I use a PowerPoint-like tool for that, but I really feel like something needs to change. I'm not talking about Figma (Slides). Something completely different. Maybe Faces is something like that. At least their website is completely stunning. And it's a slide deck, too.

Read Something

Recently, I have been using Twitter much more to get design inspiration and see what's going on in the industry. One thing you just could not get around was this post. I was super skeptical at first, but after reading this, I sent it out to a dozen friends in and outside of tech, because in some way it's truly right that a big wave of change is hitting not only our industry but our entire work life. So, you have to read this.

Heard Something

I love these little tricks on PCs and tuning my workflow. One completely new thing to my was the Hyper Key (✦), which basically acts as a kind of keybinder for a bunch of shortcuts. Once I set this up on my machine, I cannot think how I switch apps before!
