Pixel Perfect Picks #132 - First, Shiori, Monologue

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Saw Something

I stumbled over a very interesting podcast series on YouTube that is rather short, but the conversations are excellent. It's called "First of Kind," and in season two, they're diving into designers and their work. One of the recent interviews was from Ryo Lu who is currently designing at Cursor. Already the introduction quote got me hooked. Definitely worth a listen (and watch).

Read Something

Brian Lovind built something new in the software world, and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's called Shiori, and it's a dead simple read-it-later app. It's really, really simple. In the beginning, you feel like you're missing features, but it's so good, and it's so on point, and it's so flexible, I love it.

Heard Something

Since last week, I'm not really typing into my computer anymore. I'm dictating all the stuff. And I got weird looks in my home office environment from my fiancée. But that's all right, because I'm totally in love with Monologue, an app that you really need to try out (when you are on a Mac or iPhone)
