Saw Something
My partner and I started re-watching Ted Lasso from the beginning, and the timing could not be better. Season 4 premieres August 5, just under two weeks away, with Ted heading back to Richmond to coach a second-division women's football team. Going through the first three seasons again before that drop has been genuinely lovely, it holds up completely, maybe even better the second time around.
Read Something
I'm deep back into AI again and this week I started building my own Open Brain, or OB1, based on Nate B Jones's concept. The idea is simple but genuinely clever: one Postgres database with vector search sits behind every AI tool you use, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, whatever ships next month, all read from the same persistent memory of you instead of forgetting everything the moment you close a tab. The project is fully open source on GitHub and the setup guide gets you running in about 45 minutes with no coding experience needed. Nate also just published a companion prompt kit that helps you figure out which AI model actually fits how you work. Worth checking out too.
Heard Something
For issue 150, this section is flipped. I just finished The Strength of the Few, the second book in the Hierarchy series, and I'm left with a gap only a good fantasy book can fill. But I'm not looking for another ten-book commitment, something short and self-contained, maybe one or two books at most, that hits hard. So this time I actually want to hear something, from you.
