Pixel Perfect Picks #34 - Dev Mode, Designers who code, Vision Pro

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

Important update for all Figma users: The Dev Mode officially left beta at the end of January. Our team has not fully migrated yet, as the Dev Mode comes with significant costs. However, we are trying out many small things to make collaboration with developers as pleasant as possible. Molly has put together an incredibly good list of plugins on Twitter that are really great additions or even alternatives to the Dev Mode.

Read Something

Should designers code? The ultimate question, right? I have a very personal answer to this, but when I saw this new post from Dylan, a few things clicked for me again. One thing is certain: the craft will change tremendously in the coming years.

Saw Something

Well... could anyone actually avoid it this week? Who hasn't seen the numerous Vision Pro reviews. I certainly have! And I must say, I have enjoyed every single one and am extremely curious! As a designer, there are so many new and interesting interaction patterns. I'm looking forward to playing around with them more. But for now, The Verge has done the best review for me!

Until next time. Keep creating awesome stuff ✌️

If you like these and think someone else might too, please forward it on. They can subscribe to this newsletter right at the top at https://world.hey.com/mrvn. Thank you.
